921 Earthquake Museum of Taiwan preserves signs of the 921 earthquake, including damaged classrooms and the Chelongpu fault where it crosses the campus and athletic field. The museum also presents displays and conducts educational activities featuring the three aspects of natural science, the humanities, and historical records. It is hoped that visitors will learn more about earthquakes, understand the destructive power of nature and the cause of earthquake, absorb correct damage mitigation concepts, find out how to protect themselves and help others in the event of an earthquake, understand the relationship between earthquakes and human society, and experience the vitality of life after a catastrophic act of nature.
The exhibition of the museum includes: Chelungpu Fault Gallery, Earthquake Engineering Hall, Image Gallery, Disaster Prevention Hall, and Reconstruction Records Hall.
